QUIET, PLEASE
Wish I’d been there
When the unicorn posed
For that tapestry.
–H. F. Noyes (re French Middle Ages tapestry The Hunt Of The Unicorn)
I have but one
Pointed reaction:
Both you and your name
Would’ve been a distraction.

Haiku vs. rhymed couplets? Nice, but not likely to replace the UFC in American affections.

Ricardo, I had to google UFC to see what it stands for, and I have to agree with you. I suspect that few of my readers are into that kind of stuff, but just to be on the safe side and not let curiousity lead any of them astray, I wish to assure them that UFC stands for UNICORN FANCIER’S CLUB.

I didn’t believe in unicorns and I still don’t. I guess members of the UFC will be looking to convert me soon.
Ricardo, I liked the poem. mistermuse says a lot with fewer words. It would have been a total hit if he had posted a picture of the unicorn. Which does not exist except in mythic fairy tales and stories.

Michaeline, they can’t convert you if they can’t find you, so just lay low, and if you must go out, wear sunglasses, a wig and a mustache, and you should be safe.
Even if unicorns (and pictures of them) existed, my ability to post pix doesn’t….at least, not without help., which is why you seldom see photos (except youtube clips) accompanying my posts. Thank the mythic gods, I’ve been given a certain talent for word pictures, or my posts would be loaded with blanks.

Since he wasn’t there Muse, did he make a sound?

Not unless he fell, Don, and even if he did, Noyes wasn’t there to hear it….but if Noyes had been there, who knows?

Mistermuse I think you do draw word pictures. I can visoalize the unicorns in my imagination. Sorry I forgot about you posting pix. However, the youtube clips are most refreshing. We seem to be sympatico in regard to our musical preferences.
I refuse to wear a disguise since I already did that while traveling in downtown Detroit many years ago. Wearing a man’s hat, and my trenchcoat made a wig unneccesary. Funny about wearing a mustache…I could have grown my own and darkened it a little.
I went there to first visit my Aunt and then family. At the time criminals were targeting women drivers and stealing the cars after flinging them out ot their vehicles. The infamous car jackings began. Leave it to the Motor City to be the innovators of automobile crimes!

Sir Richard, I wanted to tell you that mistermuse may write some good poetry but you are one of my favorite authors. I read yourpostingswhenever I am able since I know I will most likely have a good chuckle or two. I have also come out with some loud laughter. My husband then notices me and askes what is so hilarious. 🙂
