Thank you – I’d forgotten that your SWI post was the first upon which I commented almost 3 months ago. Since then, I’ve been so active with SWI that I’ve practically abandoned my own Observation Post!

Good to hear from you. I’ve been to Paris, but never made la treck to Toulouse. I love “old Europe” – both my wife and I have ancestral roots there.

merci! 🙂 we lived in Paris for several years and it’s great – as a tourist… 😉 glad to hear you love “old Europe” – it’s been “smart” Rumsfeld’s expression after France and other Western European countries opposed the illegal war in Iraq!)… America is a melting pot and ALL the white Americans have European roots and origins. Toulouse is the European capital of space and aviation, situated 2h-drive from the French-Catalan Pyrénées and the Mediterranean sea; 3h-drive from Barcelona, Spain, olé! 🙂

One of the best things about being a tourist in Europe is the chance to visit multiple countries in a relatively short time frame – not that “If It’s Tuesday This Must Be Belgium” is ideal, but it beats not going at all. My favorite countries? Switzerland for the scenery, and Ireland for the people (I may be “biased” because we speak a common language & I have relatives there!).

Thanks very much for the comment. As you may have noticed, I only post every 5 days in order to catch up on my sleep, so I’ll be “looking” for you next on Nov. 10. Of course, if you want to come back before then, I’ll leave the door open if you promise to enter quietly and not wake me up. 🙂

I see, mistermuse, that you have ancestors in Ireland – me, too! (I’m a ‘ginger’ – although it’s considerably darker than it used to be – , two daughters are, and five of the eleven grandchildren. . 😉 )

I’m only a ‘ginger’ when I get a sunburn on the top of my half-bald head. I suppose I could get a red wig, but then I’d have to die my mustache red to match. It hardly seems worth the trouble (no offence intended). 🙂

I’ve been reading through your site, mister muse. It’ll be awhile before I finish; I’m only up to Feb/10. . but I like what I’m reading! I can see why you’re a published poet; I also liked the Western short. All good!

Carmen, all I can say (other than to express my sincere gratitude) is that you must be a glutton for punishment!
I’d like to return the favor by checking out your blog (if you have one), but I’m not very computer-savvy, so you’ll have to ‘spell it out for me’ in order for me to find it. In any case, it’s a pleasure to exchange comments.

Thank you for the reminder. I’d forgotten the name “crazyforshore,” and clicking on “carmen” doesn’t take me to your blog, so I was stuck offshore, in a manner of speaking.
Anyway, it’s past my bedtime, so will get back to you after I catch some snores.

I’m no music expert, let alone early Jazz, but a friend of mine shared some early music put out by The Mills Brothers. Wonderful stuff. My friend said how much he liked their early music but later they became more popular and ‘mainstream.’

The Mills Bros. weren’t the only ones who went mainstream after being jazz-oriented early in their careers. Bing Crosby also took that route (you probably wouldn’t even recognize his singing voice from the late 1920s-early 1930s). Frank Sinatra, on the other hand, went the opposite way and, I think it’s fair to say, left the more lasting legacy.

Hi 🙂
I couldn’t find a ‘contact’ feature on your blog. I hope you don’t mind me trying to reach you through this ‘comment’ (you can always delete it!)
I have a favour to ask…
I’ve been trying to figure out how to reach folks who don’t have their Gravatars set up in the way I suggest in my ‘Using Gravatar…’ post. It’s catch-22: when I see a Gravatar that’s not set up, I usually have no way to contact that person to suggest that they visit that article!
So, in order to stretch the reach of this post, I would be most grateful if you would consider linking to, or even ‘reblogging’ the article.
As a reminder, it’s here:
https://wibble.blog/2018/02/27/using-gravatar-to-build-traffic/
Thanks very much for listening!

Thanks for your request. It’s not that I’m unwilling to help you, but that I’m too computer-illiterate to see a way of doing what you ask. As I said in my first comment to your Gravatar post, “what’s easy for others on the computer is seldom easy for me.”
If it’s any help, I’ll leave your comment in place so that any reader who wishes to do so can click on the link you referred to. Sorry I can’t do more.

Hi mistermuse,
Like Colin (pendantry), I also couldn’t locate a ‘contact’ feature on your blog, and therefore have arrived here to greet and meet you.
Thank you for recently liking one of my posts. It has been a while since I last commented on your blog. If you have been wondering about or noticing the scant presence of SoundEagle, then please kindly be informed that I have been away from the blogosphere for a long time until quite recently, as a result of having to deal with the daily demands of filial piety and caring duties, as explicated in the post lovingly crafted and published as a special eulogy entitled “Khai & Khim: For Always and Beyond Goodbye”, published at https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2019/08/31/khai-khim-for-always-and-beyond-goodbye/
I look forward to your comment and feedback at the said eulogy. Please take your time to read it as it is very involved and multidisciplinary. Moreover, this multimedia eulogy is very extensive and is best viewed on the large screen of a desktop or laptop.
By the way, there are several of my musical compositions and arrangements that you can relish in the eulogy there. Since you are a lover and collector of music, I would like to inform you that you can instantly jump and listen to each and every one of the musical tracks by using the navigational menu entitled “Music Dedicated to Khim” located at the start of the said post.
May you find this autumn very much to your liking and highly conducive to your writing, independent thinking and music collecting!

Thanks for your comment, Soundeagle. Unfortunately, I very much doubt that I’ll have time to “listen to each and every one of the musical tracks,” but I’ll make every effort to read your special eulogy post in the next few days. Like you, I have “the daily demands of filial piety and caring duties (a live-in, unable to support herself, adult daughter with myalgic encephalomyelitis), so there are limits to (and demands on) my available time.
