GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT
Dear Pathetic President Trump,
On your way out the door,
Don’t let it hit you in the rump
’cause you’re already a sore
Loser….to say the very least.
What’s more, to ignore what we’re seeing
Is to deny to God by Judas Priest….
That you’re also a Pathetic human being.
Five years ago, when Donald Trump was running for President, everyone knew (or should have known, even if they refused to face it) what kind of person he was. Now, time has confirmed the obvious and revealed the depths to which a devil can descend, taking his believers with him — while the rest of us can only throw up our hands, shake our heads, and intone….
I was going to title this post GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH, but GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT seems marginally less vituperative (not that the Trash Man deserves any more consideration than he gives). So I’ll just let it go at that….with this:

It’s amazing how one man can wreck an entire nation. It’s going to take a decade or more to recover. I agree that it was perfectly clear 5 years ago what was coming. Love you clever posts. 🙂

Thanks, Diana. It may not be as easy, once the low hanging fruit (Trump) is gone.

I have to wonder why people are so attached to him. I imagine they had abuse in their lives.

For many of them, it’s probably just the way they were raised, a prime example being the Trumps: Don Jr. takes after his father, who takes after HIS father.

I shiver when I say this, but once he has gone, there will be less targets for our vitriol. Hey, I’m gonna have a go at smiling through!
Take a hike,
On yer bike,
Take backpedaling Mike.
Now God-fearin’ Pence
Lately’s talking sense.
Shoulda spoke pre-tense.

It’s still a bit early to celebrate! It’s not over yet! However, you can play Ella again and again; wonderful!

Ella’s rendition of “Get Thee Behind Me Satan” is superb — I’ve already listened to it several times.
As for “a bit early to celebrate,” I agree. My 7:39 am comment was in reply to obbverse, but probably addresses your point as well.

The more I think of it,
Trump ain’t gonna retire.
He’ll still have his base
To try to ‘inspire.’
Let’s hope that, after Jan. 20,
He stays banned from Twitter,
So at least we’ll be spared
The tweets of the bullshitter.
We can’t ban his rallies,
But if all goes well,
How big of an audience
Can he envision in a prison cell?

Over half the voters knew last time. The electoral college had the lapse in judgment…

No wonder — it may be the only college in the country which still has its course set in the early 19th century. It’s well past time to elect a President by direct vote of the people.

Considering its original purpose was to nullify black votes, I have to agree…

A lapse that Trump paid for, or at least promised to pay for. He seldom pays his bills…

There’s one person (Rudy Giuliani) he’d better pay because Rudy knows too much (though Rudy may refuse to testify against Trump because he’d implicate himself in Trump’s corruption).

You tell him. I am sure he will listen to you and pardon you for your life time of wicked rhymes. (Please don’t accept that pardon.)

What’s even more pathetic is that he is going back to his millionaire life without a care in the world. If an ordinary citizen committed the same crimes they would be thrown in jail for quite some time.

It seems that NO MAN IS ABOVE THE LAW applies to everyone but Trump. Nevertheless, he’s not out of the woods yet because, if he tries to pardon himself, the Supreme Court will end up deciding if he can, and my guess is that the Supremes will decide he can’t.

My late mother-in-law always said “get thee behind me Satan” but I never knew that it was made into a racy song like this rendition. Thanks for sharing. And I have been singing the Weavers since you reminded me of this apt tune.

I hate to disagree with you, Elizabeth, but I wouldn’t call “Get Thee Behind Me Satan” a racy song. It’s one of a number of songs in the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers film FOLLOW THE FLEET (1936), with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin. In those days, movies were heavily censored, and I doubt that a racy song would have gotten past the censors.

I’ve seen the movie several times, and the song doesn’t come across as suggestive within the context of the film….but I suppose it could seem so outside of that context.

It was a surprise to me how a person with zero experience of a public office could directly become President. I suppose that is America. From many conversations and comments I hear and read, it seems he has a fanatical set of followers who believe he has been wronged.

Just saw a meme on FB today that Jesus is going to return in a flying saucer and make Trump King of America for life. Hope springs eternal and all that.
