Who puts together these calendars? Hammock Day should follow International Beer Day, not precede it, out of consideration for those who have over-celebrated. Also, I sincerely hope there is a National Beer Day and a Local Beer Day as well as International Beer Day, so my right-wing friends can pop a coldie that isn’t tainted by association, however remote, with foreigners, the UN, or Agenda 21. Also a Dark Beer Day. Never a Light Beer Day. What would really be epic, though, would be Free Beer Day. That would soon rival Christmas. You heard it here first.

Ricardo, I like your suggestions. To answer your question:

The more holidays, the better, as that’s one of the first places I look for “post-inspiration” when I’m looking for an excuse to write about something. By the way, there is a National Beer Day on April 7, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a Free Beer Day. Frankly, I think there should be a Free Beer (political) Party – it would threaten to win so easily that the Repubs would probably shorten their name to the Pubs to trick voters into thinking that’s where the free beer is.

Or the regular Repubs could simply change their name to the Beer Party, as opposed to the Tea Party. I don’t think they would go for the Free Beer party–smacks of socialism.
