QUIBBLER

Mercy be on a peon named Leon,
Whose wife cried, “There’s naught we agree on!”
When pressed, “Ain’t that right?”
He guessed, “Well, not quite.
I agree that there’s naught we agree on.”

TENABILITY

Like
all
good
poems,
ten
line
poems
must
not
seem forced.

NOT A PRETTY SIGHT

To perpetuate the royal domain,
A princess abroad wed the King of Spain.
Sighed the King, unimpressed
When her Highness undressed,
“The reign in Spain lies mainly on the plain.”

THE TEEMING OF THE SLEW

The Philistines are coming!
The Philistines are coming!
Let’s run for our lives!
Let them have our wives!
They’re a fate worse than death/the black plague/bad plumbing…

It’s too late! They’re on the attack –
So artless, they’ve no art to lack!
Let’s just act nonchalant –
Let them lack what they want –
We can’t beat the Philistine Liberation Front back!

WEST WIND VOYEUR

Favonius paid a call from afar,
Blew their motel door a jot ajar.
Oblivious, the lovers undressed…
I guess you and the gu(e)st
From the west know the rest.

VISITOR FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE

is puzzled by earth’s
bible wonders can all
this innate corruption/lust
be fallout from just
one comely apple comes
to find many tenants
of this unbelievable planet
blame either original sin
or fate man talk
about tough love/luck.

SHIFTY MOVE

Yes, there once was a man named Ig Nition…
Racing cars was his driving ambition.
But his perception lacked depth,
Scaring everyone to death,
So he smartly became a mortician.
