MORE LESS-STILL POEMS

THE AMERICAN EVOLUTION

No American ever dies in the country in which he was born.
— Henry Adams

….but many an American lives in the aftermath
of the country in which he was born, trapped
in the debris of how in the world a world
of promise dissolved into a world dominated
by the lowest common denominator.
And so few know to ask….Who knew?

THE BIG FIX

While passing through,
I noticed that
this world is too much.
What big teeth it has.
What big eyes you need.
What big talk is heard.
Speak to me.
But not big.

BON VOYAGE

No matter what
thinkers may believe,
no matter what
believers may think,
no matter what
flesh may feel,
what is, is;
what isn’t, isn’t….
but if gullibles travel
laden with whatever nostrums
help make their trip
more comforting, far be
it from me to
believe/think/feel such
heavy baggage may not
go the bloody distance.
